Four of the UFC's lighter weight warriors will be back in the Octagon for September 24th's UFC 135 card in Denver, as verbal agreements are in for a featherweight bout between Diego "The Gun" Nunes and Manny Gamburyan, and a bantamweight scrap pitting Cole Escovedo against Takeya Mizugaki.
KID・五味も出場するUFC135に水垣の出場も決定。相手はDREAMで前田をKOしたコール・エスコベドに。エスコベドはUFC130でのUFCデビュー戦でヘナン・バラォンに判定負け。お互い後がない状態での試合となる。
