パンクラスがFacebook上でワールドスラム・ミドル級トーナメントの開催を発表し、選手を公募。優勝賞金は100万円で、最低6試合以上のプロ経験があることが条件。6月に1回戦、10月に準決勝と決勝が行われるとのこと。

最近、パンクラスは海外の選手と複数試合契約を結んだと発表しているが、ワールドスラムに参戦する選手とも決勝までの複数試合契約を結んで欲しい所。ライト級とバンタム級はいずれも参戦選手がフェイドアウトしてしまい、予定の準決勝が行えなかった。
